they say india has the best climet for cannabis to thrive. and literatures project india as a green house where cannabis can be grown like a weed with everything just perfect for the plant.

but the reality is vastly different.

india is a large country actually a subcontinent.

temperature vastly varry from state to state.

temperatures vastly varry even between day and night.

yes the sun light is abundant and full in any given state. but in 80 percent of india the temperatures are between 30 to 40 degrees average..

here west india in full winter right now the lowest is 14 and highest is 33. celcious. that is not optimal difference for a marijuana plant.

but still can be grown..

the heaven is only the mountainous regions of kasol and Himachal pradesh where sun is abundant yet temperatures are down for the plant. that is north india. eastern part. china border.

@yazad, sure India does have very diverse climate and regions but so does USA and quite a few countries. Your information about India is incorrect mate. Most of India's weed supply comes from Orissa, Kerala and parts of West Bengal and Meghalaya. There are so many places in north & north east where temps don't even cross 30 C even in the summers.

The hash you get up in Himachal has different genetics than the stuff you get down south. they harvest their plants way
before they're mature meaning they get no flower out of the plant. I was reading somewhere that the plants that grow there are
very resilient and grows easily in low temps all the time. avg temps there in summers is also 15-17 C in the summers and goes down to 4-5 C sept/ Oct which is ideally the harvest or as they call it here "rubbing season".

other than that, North east (meghalaya) grows some amazing weed even though they receive mad amount of rainfall (mawsynram in meghalaya is the wettest place on earth and has received highest of 467 inches of rainfall ).

even parts of Uttrakhand, Kashmir, sikkim, Arunachal grow some really amazing weed.
There is no cultivation of weed in Kasol, the plants grow way up in the hills, the higher you go up the more potency increases,

you are right my friend. except kerela and west bengal. every other state you mentioned are at north or northeastern india. near chinese border.. and temps dont exceed 30 there.. thats true.. but that is just 30percent of whole of inida...

talking about west Bengal it's hot and humid place temps go way beyond 30 there.. and i dnt knw abt weed cultivation there.

south india on the other hand kerala.. it has rain forests and climate is suitable yet again. though humid.

but that place has its own strains woch are way different then northern indian.

people need to explore kerala for weed more. but all we and even foreigners talk is kasol. and north india.. Kerala has weed mines just ready to be explore by non locals. it is also famous for magic mashrooms.

but apart from very north and north east and very south. other places temps dsnt allow theoretical temperature wich is 22 to 25 as optimum

Most of the weed stash we get up here in the north comes either from Orissa or West Bengal. Surprised you haven't heard about it, Its all over the news.

Govt burned over 50-60 tons of weed there this year. Which is why there is a weed shortage everywhere in the country rn and the prices have gone up.

Kerala has been explored to a crazy extent, I've met so many foreigners over the years, almost everyone has explored Kerala. People don't go looking for weed in Kerala is because of the law there down south is very strict. Shrooms are found in Kodaikanal and Vattaikannal. Other than that you get good weed everywhere in country. Maharashtra, karnataka you name it.

That's the beauty of landraces, they don't need optimal temps to grow.

Kasol became famous after the 'strain hunters' documentary. Also the region is very laid-back and fun to explore (Parvati Valley). Israelis go there even more than Indians.
