Hey the furthest I can get my hps above my canopy is 10 inches from my tallest plant is this ok? Also I have two exhaust fans hooked up to it

What mbnmv said - bend and tie for an even canopy. In future grows, you might consider stringing an horizontal trellis out of twine, or similar material. It only takes a few minutes to make one.
Having an even canopy all throughout will maximize the coverage of your light. In this example, six plants are spread out under two kilowatt lamps, with livestock fencing as a trellis.
The technique is called Screen of Green, or SCROG.

Those 2 pictures are a perfect example of how to set up a Scrog. Especially like that you have yours layered. Do you mind if I share your examples with some friends of mine off site?
