I run two setups inside.

For seed-starting, cloning, and micro-grows I use a 2'x2' space. Lighting is Mars Hydro TS 1000, coupled with a 6-inch Hurricane clip fan for air movement and a computer fan for exhaust.

For production I run a Phantom II ballast at 750w using 1kW high pressure sodium bulb inside 3.5 square foot grow space. During the winter months I'm able to push it to 1000w.

Blurple is older tech. It's ok for Veg but not so hot during flower.

Hope this is useful in your search!

We just purchased the Viparspectra P2000 LED grow light it has the newest SMD LED technology to provide high PAR output, high energy efficiency with 2.7 umol/J, and a long lifespan. I look for lights with higher IR and far red. I am a 100% believer in the Emerson effect. The three year warranty pulled me in! Light was $198.

also we use a 6” vivosun carbon filter inline fan and just a regular 10” round fan that turns side to side. 3x4 homemade grow area.

I purchased the 4000 quantum board here.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1000W-2000...HPS/254770076441?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144
It is almost the same specs as spider farmer and uses the same samsung diodes and meanwell driver for a bit less money and a US seller. So far it has been a great addition to my grow room. IMG_1487.JPGIMG_1470.JPG I'm also augmenting with a couple of extra ABI red 660-670mn spectrum clip ons lights during flower. There are so many great options out there. Good luck on your search.

Im using an AGLEX 2000 Watt LED Grow Light, Full Spectrum UV IR COB Series Plant Grow Lamp for my 4x4 Flower and a Phlizon 1500W High Power Series Plant LED Grow Light for Veg closet. The only thing is these lights do not have dimmers, both from Amazon.

Cola, I've done some comparing and I'm taking your advice. I'm bidding on a Viperspectra P600 on E-bay right now. If I don't win it I'm gonna buy one anyway. Will use it in my new 2x2 veg tent. Sounds like the perfect fit, a great light and price like you said.

I came across this for $20 so I decided to try it out: (not sure if code still works but message me if interested)

Looks good in my 2x2, only thing is the top of it gets really hot like an incandescent light. Is this normal for grow lights?
I'm currently using led shop lights and they are very cool to touch (minus a 3" section)

Almost 70 now. But if hot that's not overly good on the leds lowers life. Put a fan on top blowing at it to help cool down. Poor heat sink design.

Currently looking for new lights. What is everyone using?
Cheaper the better =p

Do specialty grow lights, blurple, full spectrum, etc... matter?

If your handyman skills are sufficient to change the power cord on a toaster, DIY is the way to go for cost efficiency. The Bridgelux EB gen 3 strips kill in a scrog configuration.

Very interesting. I might like to learn more about building a setup with those to replace a 1 kW hps during the summertime.

This is a DIY Bridgelux build I have over a 2'x4' scrog canopy. It eats 400 watts of power, delivering 900+ umol/m2, with 40k-50k lumens over every square inch. These are gen1 strips. The gen3 that are now available are even more efficient. Note how the photons are spread out over the entire canopy as opposed to the near point source you get from your HPS.
