Nanodome

Hey do you folks ever try one of these nano domes I’ve been struggling with Germinating seeds and keeping clones alive So I figured I’d give it a try heard good things about them

I have a little clone/early veg setup framed with pvc. I put a 200w led dialed way down, but you could do a few cfl's to keep the cost down.

Thank you. I have very limited space to use indoors. I use that little setup to keep my genetics turning over through the winter until I can put stuff outside in the spring.

I’m liking the pvc setup. Get some bar lights for the 4 post (Mars hydro FCE-3000 allows for disassembly for separation). You’ll be amazed by the yield by encompassing the plant in light. You can take 400 watts and get 400 tomatoes or you can encompass in 1000 watts at 40 % on dimmer and get 650 tomatoes.

Yea ! Nanodomes are great with the T-5 lighting (can get a the whole dome for $53.00 cheapest I have found (included _ dome - light w/reflector) generally they sell for $75.00 + (PM me for sddress of)

i myself have never used a Dome i just place them into a tent where i am growing my juveniles and have never had any problem

Right now, my sprouts and clonlings aren't even in my tent. I want my seedlings to stretch a little and my clonlings need to focus on roots not photosynthesis, so they are both sitting in front of my veg tent with the door open.

just place your light higher in tent or out of tent your plant will reach for the light that is one reason plants outside grow so tall they are reaching for the Sun

Normally, I use a dome and its always indoor.
For shits and giggles I wanted to see what would happen If I started seeds outside in Solo cups Plain Jane Style.
This is what happen yesterday.


And this is today!

Looks like all are up except the one I caught my cat chewing on.
looks like my experiments a success.
And just like that I am doing a pheno hunt......

These beans were floated for 18 hours and then I used the paper towel method to germ.
I checked back two days later and there were some long tails in the bunch.
I planted in Solo Cups Outside on the 24th.

The craziest part of this is that these beans all failed the pinch test and I was going to toss them.
As I am always testing and trying new shit I said WT Heck and here we are.

What I have learned is, I either have one hell of a pinch or some of the seeds that popped just needed someone to pinch their shells to get them started.
I also learned that I don't have to dome my Seeds.
Ok, they are all not mature yet so maybe I am wrong but things look good.
I also have them in a place that gets the morning sunrise and will not get beat by the hottest part of the days sun.

As a side note I just started my Veggie seeds in a tray with a dome and they are all indoor by the window.
I now know you don't need a dome but I guess I am also doing what I have done for a minute and domes have also worked in the past for me. I may get away from domes if I can replicate this experiment a few more times.

Nano Domes are worth it - if you can spend $50.00-$80.00 on a whole set-up (dome, tray. t-5 nano light, fixture) pm me for the cheapest set up about $52.00 (don't want to spam a product)
