Hi all - I’m going on flowering day 33 with my first grow - I’ve been keeping temperature in the space at 75 degrees but was wondering if it would be advantageous for the plants to let the nighttime temperature drop to say around 62 degrees - I do know it will be advantageous to my electric bill. Thanks

It's Just my opinion, I think the plants would appreciate and be fine if you went down to 68*. Much more not so sure they would be as comfortable although they would probably still be just fine. Typically if we are comfortable with the temps then the plants would be too. I've heard to try not to go over ten degree temp. changes. I just turned my grow room down to 72 from 75 for the same reason, $$$.

Just remember. If the plants are used to 75 from beginning night and day then a switch to lower Temps 3/4 way through can cause some stress and slow the flowering. If done from the beginning then plants will grow to that fluctuation in temp like normal. Not saying you can't but why mess with the flowering stage and disrupt its happiness.

Interesting - I did not know they can get acclimated to temperature fluctuations. Thanks

I guess I’ll pay for the juice for another 5 or 6 weeks.

Strangely enough, research indicates ( https://hightimes.com/grow/grow-hack-day-and-night-growroom-temperatures/ ) optimal conditions would be the reverse of what you wish to do; lowering the daytime temps, primarily during the first 2 hrs of the day, results in tighter nodes and more efficient growth. That said, if you wan to lower night temps by 2-3'C you won't notice much. We're talking about fine tuning, so not that big a deal.

Interesting - it seams more applicable during veg phase vs flower phase

Well they are now headed for 8 weeks and they look ok stillI had introduce a dehumidifier a week ago because the plants started excreting a lotta moisture at night - outside of the pen the humidity was below 40% but went as high as 65 inside - the dehumidifier actually keeps the night temps above 67 so I haven’t used the heater. One of the plants is changing color which it’s suppose to do from what I’ve seen from the web.
