Hey folks - it’s gonna freeze this week in Edmonton and wondering if anyone could give me a good idea of these are close to ready? Got my jars ready to dry!

1 is in the ground, 2 in pots, but only one pot can go inside (the big one).

TIA everyone!

Hard to tell exactly from the photos but most people go by the trichome colour

Some of the pictures show what looks like mostly cloudy trichomes, which means they are close. I do see alot of white hairs though in some pics. Not much you can do really if its going to freeze. Bring whatever you can inside and let them grow a bit more and chop the rest.

I've chopped plants a bit early and they still gave me a good smoke/high.

If they are still showing white pistils, then they were still making new flower material. One of the indicators I look for before checking trichomes is no or almost no new white pistils.

What does the forecast look like after the freeze? Is it a hard freeze lastimg all day, or just a light frost at night? If you can get away with covering them at night and uncovering during the day, it would be ideal to give them more time.

you know you can take them in at nught and put out duruing the day as long as temps stay somewaht constant ---Remember cold temps WILL bring out color for the one planted cover-it as mentioned

When did you plant these plants? It looks to me like they need weeks yet to finish. Ideally the trichomes should be somewhat amber.

I still see white hairs shooting out and they still look really green. A ripe plant should have many yellow leaves and should only be shooting brownish red hairs . Just my opinion 😊
