I just wanted to throw this out here. Do you prefer harvesting clear, cloudy, or amber trichomes? I ask this because I read a thread from SataviaKid about clear trichomes on some Wild Thai. He stated he had a friend who preferred some earlier harvested buds that gave him a better head high ( I apologize now if I got this wrong). Last year I had two plants, same strain, same birthdates, different harvest times and trichome colors. One clear, one cloudy to amber, in which the later plant stressed and popped a banana or two and gave me some nice seeds, but not too many. Anyways, I really prefer the head high from the clear trichomes over the other plant. I like them both because it is a fantastic strain, but I have to agree with SativaKid’s friend on the difference with the specific strain.
What strains do you prefer earlier harvest over letting your plant go a little longer? Why? What are the results? I thank you for participating in advance.

cloudy ! if you harvest clear you miss out on some rich THC ,if you wait till they mostly amber it has turned to CBD .

CBN. But yes it does deteriorate.

Be careful with the clear trichomes. It can be uncomfortable like having way too much caffeine : racing incoherent thoughts, nausea, even anxiety.

Everything in balance. Find what works best for your need.

I just re read and see you said your plant turned hermi and gave you seeds. Just know those seeds will have hermi in them. Don't trade em and circulate hermi seeds. It can be a real damper to a breeder trying to create stable genetics.
Those seeds are going nowhere. The bananas were from stress and very minimal. I plantEd the seeds remotely in the wild, see what happens in early October.

I'll jump in and agree with Kent and Cola. I shoot for mostly cloudy and harvest when I start seeing amber developing. I usually have all three on the plant but try not to have too much clear or amber for the reasons mentioned.
Jason, I do too. I shoot for cloudy to just starting to turn amber on the top quality buds, but your still going to have some of those lower buds with clear trichomes.

Yes , CBN is the end results from waiting too long or reaching that couch lock feeling. On some of my Indica’s that can be good use for sleep aid. On my Wild Thai, sativa strain, the lower popcorn buds with clear trichomes had a totally different kick. One little bud in the bong and I can do yard work for hours. I’ve been white faced on this stuff before. That’s the reason I started the thread is just to see what each grower prefers. There is a lot of experience in this room, I’m just trying tap into the knowledge and I respect each contribution and appreciate each response.

I have Wild Thai in my future and very much looking forward to it. Green Crack x Thai seeds are something currently brewing too. It should be a great Sativa yard work-get er done kinda smoke =). I love a good morning Sativa pick me up & very much utilize the Sativa and Indica attributes in my daily routines. Trichome maturity definitely plays a major factor in those attribute levels .

Jason, I just started a couple of Green Crack seeds this morning. The combination has me interested.
