Time of death 6 AM 08/28/2021

Final plant, final day of my growing season for 2021. She died in her sleep peacefully before sunrise. Wet trimmed and hanging for her sacrificial burning this Winter. There will be many days her smoke will be released into the heavens and her ashes spread on sacred ground of her ancestors.

This year was very challenging as an outside grower and usually is, but this season was even trickier. I had a plan to start earlier this season and broke womb on all five of my plants February 22 2021. I wanted to get an early start inside to get my girls in ground sooner so I could beat the extreme heat of the Midwest. The plan was to transplant as soon as last freeze date , April 15th for my region. That didn’t happen, had some major freezes all the way up to May 10th. On top of that I contracted COVID February 26th, two days before I could get vaccinated. We all survived and were ready to have a great Spring. Spring lasted ten days of torrential rains and went straight into Summer of Hell. The Summer of hell has been flood, drought, extreme heat and humidity, hail, high winds, and everything nature has to throw at you. Bug infestations to Biblical plaque standards. I want to nuke my yard so bad but I’m all organic and just can’t do it.

With all the issues and challenges I still had some pretty good harvest and some very good weed. I hope the rest of you have a great season too. I’m posting a picture or two of my last girl, I forgot to add the main cola in the picture, she was already hanging and I’m too lazy to adjust.

Wife says no to in the house. I have to honor that. I am always watching what others do, that’s how I learn. Everything from when I started growing back in the days to now has all been trial and error. I still live in a prohibition state so there isn’t a secure way to interact with fellow growers or have community. This forum and others similar give me that resource to connect and develop. I appreciate all your contributions. I’m not going anywhere.

Not a bad job Joe considering what you had to deal with ! consider getting a small inexpensive greenhouse from someone like Ogrow .it makes a hell of a difference when starting early in the spring and early fall . I live in the deep south and the heat and humidity plays hell on growing outside but I been able to grow seven huge girls by starting them in a greenhouse then replanting them in organic home made compost .

Not a bad job Joe considering what you had to deal with ! consider getting a small inexpensive greenhouse from someone like Ogrow .it makes a hell of a difference when starting early in the spring and early fall . I live in the deep south and the heat and humidity plays hell on growing outside but I been able to grow seven huge girls by starting them in a greenhouse then replanting them in organic home made compost .

Nice timing on your comments, I was actually starting to clear a corner in the yard today for a greenhouse. Just started shopping around for sizes and manufacturers. Any advise is welcome.

I got a 4 x 6 for around 300 made with aluminum frame and poly panels that does an outstanding job and has a roof vent for hot days . get you some wire stands and you can grow a lot of plants and veggies as well year round .put a garden hose close by with a water timer and its virtually hands free most of the time. done away with my tiller afterwards lol .

How are the buds doing are they good?? it looks like next time you need to top her really i am sitting here laughing i can just see you on a 5 gallon bucket she must be 7 feet tall HA HA you should get a good harvest here is a small update on her

sativa Dominant Hybrid - 80% Sativa / 20% Indica​

THC: 22% - 26%, CBN: 1%​

Strawberry Cough is a strain that holds true to its name. A sweet strawberry smell and subtle after taste is accompanied by a thick smoke that leaves even veteran tokers coughing. This strain is sativa dominant with an 80:20 sativa/indica ratio. Strawberry cough is said to be a cross between Erdbeer (sativa) and an unidentifiable indica. The sativa prevalence in this strain will lead you to a relaxed and uplifting head high. Patients often use this strain for alleviation of anxiety and stress. Strawberry cough is easily smoked throughout the day because it can relieve all of your ailments without excessive tiredness. The strawberry components are very distinct in the appearance and taste of this strain. Although the buds from this strain's plant can be quite small, they are also very potent. The buds are dense and covered in red hairs and dewy trichomes, similar to the fruit it's named after.

We're looking to get a decent sized greenhouse ourselves but I'd be fighting with the wife over who gets how much of it for growing. She'd want to waste a lot of room for veggies and I'd want to rig it for blacking it out to flower regular photo plants that I could grow inside to 3ft or so then veg for a month more May - June and flower for the rest of our summer. We can't plant out in the open until about June 7 and even then she's lost tomato plants to frost that came along after that.

Last fall she planted 1750 garlic and sold all of them this summer so is going for closer to 3000 planted shortly. Lost profits this year selling by the pound so selling by the bulb next year.

Its got 2 inch buds all over it and yep I should have topped it but it grew so fast that by the time I walked down the mountain to check on it, it grew another foot ,at 61 years old getting up and down this mountain isn't so easy. Saving it all up for October so my get up and go hasn't got up and went lmao !

i wished i was 61 again i could use those 19 years again. actually i wished i was in my 40 again that would give me 40 more years to now owell thank the Lord i can still get up and go fishing and mow the yard.

I hear ya ! I think if I was forty again I would be hunting these mountains for American ginseng roots , that stuff sells for around 1600 dollars a pound . grows all along the Appalachia mountains.

it wasn't quite that expensive but i lived in west virginia for a white when i was about 12 and used to dig it up as a mater of fact i still have a ginseng hoe ha ha

I ordered the green house. Should be here Saturday, I’ll post pictures after it is finished. Spent most of my evenings this week running the jackhammer and wheelbarrow to haul off the old brick hog pit to make room for it. Pretty well worn out from all that extra Work, but I think it will be worth it.

I've been interested in an aluminum/polycarb greenhouse but uncertain how they hold up under wind gusts. Assuming it's fixed to the ground, any clue what kind of breeze will knock these down?

I have one I got from Harbor Freight & anchored it to a pier block foundation and reinforced it with internal benches. It has held up great for several years now. I did have one roof panel collapse from last winter's heavy, wet snow load. I popped it back in and was good to go.
I don't grow in here much. It gets 120+ degrees on warm sunny days. I'd recommend shade cloth and pots small enough to move in and out as needed. It works great in the early and late growing season.

I’ll find out, I live in Kansas, there is wind all the time. it’s because Nebraska sucks and Oklahoma blows.
