Indoor Back for Another Grow (Journal)

Hello my canna-buddies, it has been some time since we have seen any new content from this guy. I took the last year off to focus on personal development and because I had all the weed I could possibly smoke, there wasn't any logic in pumping out more. Now, my break is just about over and I'm hyped for this time around.

To start with, I'm testing one of Alphatoy's varieties: Texas Afghan Katy

Ten seeds were floated in a shot glass tonight so Day 1 begins July 19.

Goals are to find 4x fem and set up in hydroponics.

Is it gonna be a diy hydro system or store bought?

This seed is a trade I received from fellow member Alpha, that's about all I know of its background. I'd like to see if any change colour to black like one of the pictures of the parent. It's been sitting in less than ideal storage and so I've decided to try and get them started before they're lost.

The Hydro setup is simply going to be four DWC buckets, roots suspended in a mix of coir-perlite.

Exciting stuff! I always wanted to try dwc myself but never did. Results wise it seems to be one of the most productive systems when dialled.

I hope you get some little tadpole tails in the next few days and the grow show can really get started

What's plan b if they don't pop?

It's mighty productive. I'm excited to put it back into service! The beans doing alright so far - they got their drink and have been placed into cups for germ.

If they don't pop, well, my list is extensive. I'll never have enough time to try them all!

Update: After delicately scratching the soil with a toothpick, I found the seed therein has opened. Baby photos to come!

Alphatoy graciously sent me some a couple of years back. All 5 germinated. Soaked for 24hr until they sunk, then used the paper towel method. They grew tall with long branching and big roots. High in THC. I would recommend going with a 7” or greater size pot. I used 5 gallon and had roots growing out the bottom. I would buy his genetics.

9 / 10 came up. Replaced the container that failed with another seed, Katy x Cheese.

Seedlings are under 150w Mars Hydro led at 25% power, 18/6 schedule.

- Lost one due to damping off. Increased light intensity to 100%, fans accelerated. Down to eight, possibly seven TexAfgKaty. Seedlings showing some purple-black hue already. Increased watering to flush salty coco.

- Attempt at revival of some old beans Wreckage (R) 2018. Past attempts unsuccessful. It's probably the last try.

4 out 6 germinated 1 died from my error, sprayed the girl out out soil found her with the tail in the air. The other never opened, after 11 days I planted it in soil checked it and it was just shell no seed. Must have dissolved. I germinated 2 more, now I have 4 going about 2 weeks apart.
