What's new to you this spring?

Spring always brings a wave of new life, growth, and adaptation. What's the biggest new change in your garden this spring?
Popping new strains?
Got some new cuts from a friend?
Add any new equipment to your set up?
D.I.Y.'d some stuff together that, even if no one else, you impressed yourself with?

And unless someone beats me, I'll go first. (it may be a bit long)
PREFACE:
New light, tent... last July. I've been fighting heat problems all year. Even this past winter it was tropical in my 4x4. A bit of research and I've found out the tent i have my #Ez8 from Medic Grow in, is too small. Kind of significantly too small. I've done the math and the difference in volume from a 4x4x6 to a 5x5x6 is staggering. A 4x4x6 has 96ft³ of volume while a 5x5x6 has 150ft³ and my Ez8 is made to work in a minimum of a 5x5. This could explain the 95°-98° light cycle I've been having that no one else seems to with led.

So, a couple days ago, on 4/20, I won another monster light. Different brand, actually a more well known brand, and again the light has a price tag to make my cheap/ broke budget scream in terror. On the way from Spider Farmer is their brand new #SE 1000W. The core coverage of the SFSE is 4x4 max of 5x5.

So I actually had enough money in my mad stash to get me a new 5x5. So the Grow room needs completely reconfigured. Older light on the new tent, new light in the older tent new 6"carbon filter for the big tent, new 6"vent out the window, try to see if I can get an ac in the window also, and a dedicated circuit for my lights and maybe exhaust fans. This will leave my 4x3 open to be my stud/ breeding tent. Pretty sure I'm going to be setting the 4x4 and 5x5 on a flip so only one is on at a time right now.

All of this and i haven't even gotten into the new plans with genetics. I'm excited.

That's a phenominal score 👍. As for running 2, 1000 watt lights on a single circuit, yeah, I'd get an electritian to add a 2nd dedicated circuit.
Keep seeding!

They shouldn't draw the 9.4 amps that one 1000w hps does will they?

I got a meter nevermind.

Bought a polycarbonate greenhouse last Fall. Glad I did, Winter just won’t go away. It’s been dry as hell, windy all the time. Fires all Winter. The smoke and dust happen daily or every other day. Might storm tonight, who knows. It has been a rollercoaster of weather in the heartland 80 to 8 and did I mention the wind?

The greenhouse has allowed me to start growing and hold at mid 70‘s temp and humidity. Trees, all plants, have been affected by these drought conditions. I can at least grow some veggies and pot in the greenhouse for now.

This cheap greenhouse has stood up to some very strong winds for months. I keep the humidity up by pour ing well water over everything and allowing it to heat during the day and condensation at night keeps the humidity up. I did shovel snow in it when we had some.

I have a couple of AK47 going, one LSD, and three SweetTooth. All autos for now because I don’t think photos will make it through the Summer if the climate doesn’t change to favorable conditions. I grow everything outside and organic. We will see how things go.

Ooooh what to pop? I've got a good bunch of generally fruity strains, but I'm looking for the nose hair curling STANK! years ago my step brother in law had some he called Stinky Goat Cheese and wow! You wouldn't need to trim for a week after smelling that bag.

Suggestions?

As I recall, if the voltage is the same, (both 120VAC lights), and the 'true' wattage pull from the wall is the same(+/-1000w), then yes, the amps will be the same.
In your case, about 9-10 amps. What did your meter say?

A little Spring update from the heartland. Saw my first tornado of the season, too close for comfort. Didn’t get any rain out of that super cell, but we did when the squaw line come through. Of course it comes with heavy rain and hail, but I needed the rain. I recommend any polycarbonate greenhouse as long as you anchor them in the ground well. It held up to all the wind and hail. Plants are doing just fine.

Both lights 1@100% 1@ 60% 3 fans 9.4 amps. Gotta double check but last night in the new 5x5 it was down to 83° (fist pump) YES!

Well I have an issue with the new light. It's made to run 220. On the driver it says input 200-277v. So I can't use it right now. Anyone with about a 600w led want to swap?
