I prefer stakes instead of tying up. Just a personal preference, so it's not a spider web. But you have to be careful that you don't poke yourself in the eye when you bend down over the plants. Maybe use hi-viz tape around foam on the tops of the stakes.

I think they'd have to be very long stakes haha these plants are kinda tall. Do you put the stake in the pot or on the floor/ground?

I use 3 or 5 gal pots or buckets, and I put the stakes in the soil away from the stalk so as to avoid damaging the main roots near the stalk.

The garden store near me sells thin metal stakes coated in green plastic. They are around 3ft long. Also, they sell 4ft bamboo sticks that I have used.
